Religious Sisters in Uganda got involved in anti-trafficking activities in 2011, after sending four sisters to the Talitha Kum training held in Nairobi (Kenya). The process to build up the Network was longer. In 2016 a representative from Uganda attended the II International Coordination Committee of Talitha Kum in Rome and the following year the International Coordinator of Talitha Kum visited the country and the Association of Religious of Uganda to support the organization of the Network. Only in 2018 the religious sisters in Uganda were able to organize an intercongregational group of religious sisters working on this issue and establishing the bases for a Ugandan Network.

The objectives of the Network include; i. Creating resilient coalition of stakeholders and strategies against human trafficking. ii. Promotion and awareness creation in media network approaches constructed to prevent the gaps that facilitate exploitation and human trafficking. iii. Continuous education of Families and Communities on the misuse of workforce and human trafficking iv. Strengthening our networks Iv Empowerment of Surviors
